Music Ministry

The Music Ministry is a large and vital part of the Community Missionary Baptist Church worship experience.  Music, one of God’s greatest gifts to His people, is a powerful tool for uniting the mind and heart in praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The purpose of our music ministry is to fulfill the "Great Commission" by sharing the gospel, exalting, praising and glorifying the name of Jesus through music that is God-centered and faith-inspiring.  Our worship music repertoire is comprised of traditional gospel, contemporary gospel, Christian anthems, and hymns.  

There are many opportunities within the ministry for you to use your musical gifts and talents.  We welcome you to come and be a part of our music ministry.

The VOICES Choir is composed of male and female singers  18 years of age and up.  Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening at 7:45  to 9:00 p.m. prior to each first Sunday. The VOICES Choir leads the congregation in songs of praise and worship on the first Sunday of each month during the 7:30 a.m and 9:45 a.m. worship services.   The music repertoire consists primarily of traditional and contemporary gospel, Christian anthems, and hymns. 

The Nu-G Young Adult Choir is composed of male and female singers ranging from 25 to 45 years of age.  Rehearsals are held each Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm and also the Wednesday evening prior to the third Sunday of each month from 7:45 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  The Nu-G Choir leads the congregation in songs of praise and worship during the 7:30 a.m. amd 9:45 a.m. worship services on the third Sunday of each month.  The music repertoire consists of traditional gospel, contemporary gospel, Christian anthems, and hymns.

The Men Folk Choir is composed of male singers ranging from the age 18 years of age and up.  Rehearsal is held each Monday evening at 7:45 p.m. and also the Wednesday evening prior to the second sunday of each month from 7:45 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  The Men Folk Choir leads the congregation in songs of praise and worship during the 7:30 a.m and 9:45 a.m. worship services on the second Sunday of each month.  The music repertoire consists of traditional gospel, hymns, and Christian anthems.

The Nursery Choir is for our boys and girls from the age 2 through 2nd grade.  Choir rehearsal is held on each Wednesday evening from 7:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. prior to the fourth Sunday of each month.  Songs rendered by the nursery choir is a special part of our fourth Sunday worship services at 7:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.  The nursery choir brings joy and enthusiasm to our worship services.  We will be delighted to have your child as a part of this ministry.

Children in grades 3rd - 6th participate in the children choir.   Rehearsal is held on each Wednesday evening from 7:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. and Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. prior to the fourth Sunday of each month.  The children choir joins the nursery choir in leading the congregation in songs of praise and worship on the fourth Sunday of each month during the 7:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. worship services.  Our children’s  choir  brings much joy and excitement as well as a youthful spirit to our worship services.  We welcome your child to be a part of this ministry.

The Youth Choir is composed of youth 7th grade and up.  Rehearsal is held on each Wednesday evening from 7:45 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. prior to the fourth Sunday. The youth choir brings a highly jubilant spirit to the praise and worship service on the fourth Sunday of each month at 7:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.

The youth praise team is a select group of youth, male and female, from 13 through 17 years of age.  The praise team leads the youth in praise and worship during youth worship service on the first, second and third Sunday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Rehearsal is each Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.
