Beat The Heat
The time is here again for our annual Beat the Heat campaign! This year, it will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at our Cedar Hill location from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We are excited to give away free air conditioning units to our seniors, but advanced registration is required. The event is sponsored by the Senior Source and TXU.
Eligibility criteria for the AC unit giveaway:
- Age 60 or 55 with documented serious health conditions
- Resident of Dallas County
- No air conditioning in your home, or a window unit that is 10 years old or older
- Unable to afford repairs
In addition to the AC unit giveaway, we will host a Senior Expo. No registration is required for the expo, which will run concurrently with the Beat the Heat event. Come and join us to connect with organizations that assist with food, transportation, health care, bills, and housing costs. We will also have free food bags, sweet treats from Kona Ice, and a chance to win something awesome in our raffle drawing.
Remember, registration is mandatory for the AC unit giveaway. The event will be held at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 820 E. Wintergreen, Cedar Hill Tx, 75104 and you do not need to be a member to participate. This event is open to anyone in the De-Soto area or surrounding areas, but you must be a senior to qualify.
