The Assimilation Ministry is designed to be a true reflection of the “Heart of Community”.   To present a positive and lasting first impression to our guests that choose to worship with us. To exhibit God’s love in the way we entertain our guests and to be worthy of the souls that will be added to the CMBC family. We have the awesome responsibility of providing each new member with the necessary tools to successfully assimilate into the life and Ministry of Community Missionary Baptist Church. Empowering our new members to minister using their God-given talents and gifts. Rendering support and encouragement for new members in facilitating the movement from passive attendance to active discipleship. To create and maintain a culture that is conducive to the sense of belonging and the desire to contribute as a vital member of our growing Ministry.

On the first Saturday of each month from 8:30 am-12:00 noon, we welcome our newest family members with a full and very satisfying breakfast as well as an orientation class to share why we exist and the Biblical Doctrine on which we stand. During the Breakfast Orientations, we have the opportunity to personally meet and greet our new family members in a more relaxed environment. At the end of this fun-filled event, a certificate of completion is presented to all attendees and your process for membership is complete. Community Missionary Baptist Church is a church home to more than 2,300 members with three worship services each Sunday morning. With any large congregation, people have a tendency to get lost and disconnected. The Gospel Families - ACTS, JOHN, LUKE, MARK, and MATTHEW - were designed for the purpose of creating small groups and encouraging members to connect and enjoy intimate fellowships with one another.

Each family is under the direction of designated leaders which are ministers, deacons, and laymen.  The family leadership has the responsibility of facilitating Christian growth, authentic care, Christian accountability and personal relationships with one another.

Each member of CMBC is assigned to one of the Gospel Families. All CMBC members are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in their respective family meetings and special events.

All Gospel Families meeting are held on the fourth Monday evening of each month at 6:30 p.m. in their designated areas.

If you are a member of CMBC and you need to know which gospel group you are a member of please contact Sis. Pearl Epps at

The Men’s Fellowship Ministry strives to meet the spiritual needs of the men of Community Missionary Baptist Church through consistent programs of Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. We strive to equip and empower men to be effective disciples for Christ. The ministry’s goal is to deploy men in Christian service to one another, their family, church, community, and the world.

Men’s fellowship and Bible study are held each week on Monday from 7:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The hour is an interactive and applicable study of the word of God in an environment where men are nurtured and encouraged to develop a strong relationship with God as they experience the support of Christian relationships.

For development and growth, four biblically-based concepts are studied and applied: Integrity - developing and maintaining personal character; Influence – by becoming men of integrity, we are able to cause growth and change in those around us; Leadership – rejecting passivity and accepting responsibility; and, Legacy – establishing and leaving a Godly legacy.

If you are seeking a deeper relationship with God and want to enjoy the fellowship and support other Christian men, please join us. Please contact Deacon Lavarn Holcomb by email at
